A physician barred from participating in lethal injections in Missouri is on the federal government’s execution team in Indiana.

Details in court documents filed in a death penalty appeal make clear that Dr. Alan Doerhoff works on the team, even though his name had been blacked out, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

A federal judge had barred Doerhoff from participating in executions after he admitted he sometimes gave condemned inmates smaller doses of sedative than required by state guidelines. Doerhoff had said dyslexia caused him to confuse numbers and call drugs by the wrong name.
