An Atlanta lawyer who believes detention centers for immigrant children should be called “Trump Hotels” has purchased the TrumpHotels.org domain and set up a spoof website.
Lawyer Loren Collins posted pictures of children in chain-link pens at the website and included “thoughts from our manager”—statements about immigrants by President Donald Trump. The Daily Report, Atlanta Magazine and Gizmodo have coverage.
The price of the domain was $8, but Collins says he might sell it for a higher price. “If Trump wanted to buy the site, I might be willing to part with it in exchange for, say, 10 years of his tax returns, and the termination of 25 [nondisclosure agreements] of my choosing,” he told the Daily Report.
Collins told Gizmodo he once ran as a Republican for the Georgia House, but “I cannot stomach the thought of continuing to identify myself as a Republican” while Trump leads the party.
