Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott wants to keep its associates happy, so it gives them a three-night all-expenses-paid vacation every year.
The location? Anywhere in the country, according to a story about cushy Chicago jobs in the Chicago Tribune’s Red Eye. Associates can bring their spouses, stay at fancy resorts and eat at the top restaurants.
Lawyer Hamilton Hill prefers travel to warm climates. He’s been to southern California, South Beach and the Florida Keys on the firm’s dime. “It’s nice when you get to enjoy these perks,” he said.
Managing partner Skip Herman told the newspaper that the trips help retain associates. “I like going to work in the morning where people are happy,” he said. “Life’s too short to be in a place that isn’t fun.”
