Arrest Warrant Issued for Donor Hsu
A California judge issued a warrant for the arrest of Democratic campaign donor Norman Hsu after he failed to show up for a court appearance today.
Hsu’s lawyer, James Brosnahan, said he could not locate his client or his passport, the New York Times reports. “We do not know where he is at this moment,” Brosnahan said. “We hope he will be in court today.”
Hsu was a fugitive 15 years ago when he skipped a court hearing in a fraud case. The case appeared to be resolved last week when Hsu pleaded no contest to grand theft. A judge scheduled a hearing today to weigh his request for a reduction in bail.
