Another BigLaw firm announces administrative cuts
Bingham McCutchen has announced job cuts affecting 31 staffers just a day after Husch Blackwell confirmed layoffs of 25 staff members.
Bingham eliminated 31 staff positions across various administrative departments, according to a memo published Thursday by Above the Law. “These reductions follow other voluntary staff departures and position cancellations, which together with the reduction-in-force, are enabling us to realign our staff headcount with our current practice and business needs,” the memo says.
Above the Law suspects more layoffs are ahead. “Now that the holidays are behind us,” the blog says, “it’s likely that law firm layoffs will resume.”
The memo also says Bingham will transition 22 revenue-management positions to its global services center in Lexington, Ky.
