The latest lawyer to leave Dewey Ballantine’s Silicon Valley office is the managing partner.

Jeannine Yoo Sano will join the East Palo Alto, Calif., office of Howrey on May 1, according to the Recorder.

Sano, who co-chaired the IP litigation practice group at Dewey, says she is making the move because of Howrey’s strong IP practice.

Only eight lawyers remain at Dewey’s East Palo Alto office, down from 25. Some of the defections occurred after the New York City-based firm’s failed merger with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, the legal newspaper reports.
