Angry BigLaw lawyer goes viral as #guyonporch during riot
Perkins Coie senior counsel Peter Tracey has gone viral as #guyonporch for his angry denunciation of Trump supporters marching toward the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.
Tracey’s profane outburst from his Washington, D.C., front porch was captured by a film crew for Norwegian journalist Veronica Westhrin, according to Barred in DC, the Washington Post and Above the Law.
“Get out of town,” Tracey yelled. “F- - -ing treasonous pieces of s- -t!”
The video shows a Black woman in a car agreeing with Tracey that the protesters have destroyed the city. She also agreed when Tracey said that, if Black Lives Matter supporters were marching to the Capitol, there would be “tanks rolling down Pennsylvania Avenue.”
“It makes me teary-eyed,” the woman said as she wiped away tears. “We’d die” if supporters of Black Lives Matter tried the same thing, she said.
Tracey, 60, spoke with Barred in DC and the Washington Post.
“I think the issue … needs to be focused on the disparity between the way that people of color would have been treated had they done the same thing versus the kid glove treatment that these guys got yesterday,” Tracey told Barred in DC. “I think that tells you all you need to know about the fundamental problems in this country.”
Tracey told the Washington Post he has just one regret about his outburst.
“I could’ve professed it a little less profanely,” he said.
So I filmed this video today. I shot it in a D.C. neighbourhood as Trump-supporters were leaving downtown after the protests and riots today. Apparently it went viral after I posted in on my Instagram @westhrin So here it is, Twitter! #guyonporch #womanincar pic.twitter.com/bmMUS48Blz
