All seven new partners at well-known West Coast firm are women
One of the top corporate law firms in Portland, Ore., has just elevated seven associates to its partnership, and all of them are women.
They are employment practitioners Mia Butzbaugh and Naomi Levelle Haslitt; intellectual property specialists Chandra Eidt and Elizabeth Milesnick; Jeneé Hilliard, who focuses on real estate and tax matters; litigator Stacey Martinson; and bankruptcy practitioner Jeanne Sinnott, the firm Miller Nash announced in a Tuesday press release. All but Eidt, who is in Seattle, work out of the firm’s headquarters in Portland.
Kieran Curley, who serves as the firm’s managing partner, called the all-female partner class a coincidence, but said it reflects both the growing diversity of the business world and the firm’s efforts to promote diversity.
“It’s important that our firm reflects the legal profession at large, which is growing more diverse, as is that of our clients,” he told the Portland Business Journal.
The 113-attorney firm has two women on its five-member executive committee, and about a third of its partners are female.
