$60M Ford Rollover Verdict Overturned
A Florida appeals court has overturned a $60 million verdict against Ford Motor Co. in an SUV rollover case.
The 3rd District Court of Appeal ruled (PDF) the judge improperly allowed jurors to hear about rollover accidents involving Ford Explorers without establishing similarities to the case they were hearing, the Daily Business Review reports.
The suit was brought by the parents of 17-year-old Lance Crossman Hall, who died when the Ford Explorer in which he was riding flipped over four times. The driver of the vehicle had fallen asleep.
