Updated: Three partners from the Colorado offices of Faegre & Benson have departed for Holme Roberts & Owen, less than a month after three other Faegre & Benson partners joined the Denver office of Perkins Coie.

The new Holme Roberts partners are corporate attorney Chris Hazlitt, who formerly served as executive partner of the Boulder office of Faegre & Benson, and litigators Neal Cohen and Jim Sawtelle, reports Law Week Colorado.

“Having three partners of this caliber join HRO, from an equally prestigious firm, is indicative of HRO’s expansion in Colorado, and of the firm as a whole,” says Ken Lund in a law firm press release. He is managing partner of the Denver-based Holme firm, which has about 230 lawyers in 10 offices in four western states and Europe.

“HRO is poised to become even more of a legal powerhouse in the western region, and this addition compliments our strategic plan for aggressive growth and our commitment to Colorado,” Lund continues. “We are already known for our strength, legal expertise and excellent client service, and the addition of this group from Faegre only solidifies that reputation. It’s a great fit and we are excited about the future of the firm.”

Three partners who focus on business transactional work left Faegre & Benson for Perkins Coie last month, as the Denver Business Journal details.

The departures leave the Minneapolis-based Faegre firm with more than 100 lawyers practicing in its Denver and Boulder, Colo., offices, according to its website.

Perkins Coie has been expanding aggressively, as discussed in a recent ABAJournal.com post about its latest California office:
