2018 REGULAR STATE DELEGATE ELECTION
Pursuant to §6.3(a) of the ABA’s Constitution, 17 states will elect State Delegates for three-year terms beginning at the adjournment of the 2018 Annual Meeting. The states conducting elections and election rules and procedures can be found at ambar.org/2018StateDelegate.
2017 STATE DELEGATE ELECTION MAINE (VACANCY)
Pursuant to §6.3(e) of the ABA’s Constitution, the state of Maine will elect a State Delegate to fill a vacancy due to the resignation of Geraldine (GiGi) Sanchez. The term will commence immediately upon certification by the Board of Elections and expires at the conclusion of the 2020 Annual Meeting. Go to ambar.org/2017StateDelegateVacancy-Maine.
2018 BOARD OF GOVERNORS ELECTION
The Secretary hereby gives notice that at the 2018 Midyear Meeting, the Nominating Committee will announce nominations for district and at-large positions on the ABA Board of Governors for three-year terms beginning at the conclusion of the 2018 Annual Meeting. The deadline for receipt of nomination petitions is Jan. 5, 2018. A list of the district and at-large positions conducting elections, and the election rules and procedures, can be found at ambar.org/2018BoardofGovernors.
NOTICE BY THE SECRETARY REGARDING BOARD OF GOVERNORS VACANCY
The resignation of A. Vincent Buzard of Pittsford, New York, a member of the Board of Governors from District 15, has created a vacancy on the Board of Governors for the 2015-2018 term. Pursuant to §7.4 of the Association’s Constitution, the unexpired term for the vacancy shall be filled by an eligible member of the Association selected by the members of the House of Delegates in the district in which the vacancy exists. All nominees must be accredited to the state of New York. If you would like to become a nominee or wish to nominate someone accredited to District 15, nominations may be made by mail or email to the Office of the Secretary, c/o Leticia D.
