Officer Pat has just received a new assignment along with the new rookie cop Jimmy. Their assignment is to be granted a warrant to search the accused for the stolen property. The property they’re accused of stealing is over $100,000 worth of electronics. After Pat and Jimmy obtain a search warrant they travel to the accused’s home and knock on the door. As they enter, they look around the kitchen to find a pile of cocaine the accused didn’t have time to clean up before the cops arrived. They then arrest the accused for having illegal drugs and then later on find out they also committed the crime of theft. This all is an example of plain view.
