One of the four surviving copies of Magna Carta from 1215, the Lincoln Cathedral Magna Carta gets its name from Lincoln Cathedral in Lincoln, England, where it is normally held and preserved. All four surviving 1215 copies have UNESCO “Memory of the World” status for their historical signifigance. This document was loaned to the Library of Congress for its 10-week exhibition “Magna Carta: Muse and Mentor,” opening Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, and running through Monday, Jan. 19, 2015.
