Caption: “The elementary students at Marsh-Mallow Combined School District were shocked and saddened to learn that their long-awaited field trip to majestic Mount Peepmore National Park was cut short due to yet another government shutdown. ‘We held bake sales and set up lemonade stands so we could pay for this. We even set up a Go-Fund-Me page! All for nothing, I guess,” said 4th grader Sugar Coated.
“Her friend Stick E. Fingers, a sweet but dejected 2nd grader, chimed in: ‘Well, at least we can kind of see it from the parking lot. I just wish there was a bathroom out here.’ The students plan to write to their Senators and Peep-resentatives seeking reimbursement when they return home.”
