Drawing on an iconic image of the late rapper the Notorious B.I.G., then-New York University School of Law student Shana Knizhnik started a blog, Notorious R.B.G., which focused on Ginsburg’s dissents, in 2013. The blog led to a book of the same name published in 2015. When asked about now-infamous image, Ginsburg has said that she and the rapper, whose birth name is Christopher Wallace, were both born and bred in the New York City borough of Brooklyn.
