She may not be a superhero and may not have starred in her own title, but Gabrielle Haller holds a special place in X-Men fan-boy hearts. She not only gave birth to a secret love child with Professor X, she also defended Magneto, one of the greatest comic book (and film) villains of all time. During a 1980s storyline, Magneto was put on trial for crimes against humanity. She defended him with spirit and integrity—at least, until the trial was disrupted by a pair of mutant twins.
