Lawyers don’t only practice law from the comfort of their office.

How much easier would life be if only that were the case, right? The reality is that an attorney today will work from the office, dash to a courtroom, meet with a client or conduct a deposition at another law firm.

Whether traveling frequently across town or across the country, you still must remain connected with colleagues and clients while maintaining secure access to documents so you can do your job. Microsoft Office 365 offered by Sprint can help.

So what exactly is Office 365? To start, think of it as a bundle of Microsoft productivity applications you already know well, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. It offers many additional advantages that can be particularly helpful for harried, on-the-go professionals.

Anywhere Access

Office 365 is a cloud-based service supported and run by Microsoft. With it you can work from virtually anywhere on nearly any device – PC, Mac, Windows Phone, iPhone, Android and BlackBerry. You get this convenience without sacrificing non-negotiable requirements such as reliability and security. Let me share a few examples from a long list of powerful features it offers:

• Manage documents– Make an edit to the most recent version of a contract or other document with Office 2010 and SharePoint Online, which are part of Office 365. With Office Hub on a Windows Phone you also can view, edit and add comments to a document even if your laptop isn’t handy.

• Changing Court schedules – Nobody wants to fight traffic all the way to the courthouse only to find that a hearing has been rescheduled. Avoid those hassles by using your mobile device to access court agendas through Exchange Online, receive notifications when there is a delay and connect to your Outlook calendar so information about your next appointment never is further away than a tap on a touch screen.

• Security – Convenience is important, but you can’t seek that benefit if it means risking control of confidential information in the documents you view and edit on your phone, laptop or other devices. Office 365 includes powerful antivirus and anti-spam protection, provides control over who can view certain documents and, should a mobile device ever be lost or stolen, allows you to remove all sensitive data with a remote-wipe capability.

At Sprint, we work all of the time with professionals, small and medium-sized businesses, large corporations and others who depend on mobile technology to get work done. We’d be happy to talk with you about how you might use Office 365.

One of the advantages Sprint offers is a service we call “Carefree Cloud.” Sprint has bundled Office 365 with a free onboarding and 24x7 in-life technical support service. Many small and medium-sized business customers prefer this to using a self-service onboarding guide or paying extra fees for support
