Winston & Strawn Opens Two More China Offices
Winston & Strawn is planning to open offices in Beijing and Shanghai after getting approval for the expansion by the country’s Ministry of Justice.
The law firm opened an office in Hong Kong at the end of 2008. The new offices represent “the next step in a remarkable period of expansion in China,” according to a press release.
Winston plans to expand “significantly” in Shanghai, and also plans additional growth in the other two offices.
Winston & Strawn managing partner Thomas Fitzgerald said the firm plans to continue its expansion in regions with opportunities for growth. “As the world market continues to rebound from last year’s downturn, we see Asia, and China particularly, continuing to play an increasingly important role,” he said in the press release.
