Many a proud parent is watching a child graduate from law school this month after years of hard work and hefty expense. But for attorney Daniel Formeller it will be a scene played out in triplicate.

All three of his 26-year-old triplets will earn their juris doctor degrees this weekend from DePaul University College of Law, which is also Formeller’s own alma mater, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.

The planets aligned for the three after the youngest, Christina, decided she wanted to go to law school and her slightly older sister, Kathryn, and brother, Matthew, decided they did, too, says their father. He is the managing partner of the Tressler law firm in Chicago.

The DePaul program was especially attractive to the three, the article explains, because it allowed them to attend part-time and help care for their mother, who has early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

At this point, they have no definite post-graduate career plans.

“Practicing with my brother and sister would be a dream come true,” says Christina. “However, it seems unlikely that the three of us will find jobs together, given the state of hiring at firms these days. We always joke about starting our own practice: Formeller Formeller & Formeller. Maybe in the future that will become a reality.”
