Paul Hastings had laid off about 15 information technology staffers in its Los Angeles office after outsourcing the positions.

Above the Law broke the news, confirmed in a statement by the law firm. The jobs of about 15 support analysts have been transferred to Keno Kozie in Chicago, which specializes in IT design, service and support for hundreds of law firms, the statement says.

Those laid off will get a severance package “that is consistent with legal industry norms,” according to the statement. “This action is one of many that Paul Hastings has been taking over the past five years as it identifies opportunities for efficiency in its operations and focuses upon its core competency of providing high-value legal counsel to the world’s leading corporations and financial service institutions,” the law firm says.
