New York State Bar exam sees slight pass rate increase for July 2017
The overall pass rate for the July 2017 New York State Bar exam was 68 percent, the New York State Board of Examiners announced Tuesday.
That’s a 4 percent increase from last year, the New York Law Journal (sub. req.) reports. Also, first-time test takers who were graduates of ABA-accredited law schools had a pass rate of 86 percent, which is the group’s highest pass rate since 2013, according to a New York State Board of Law Examiners’ press release (PDF).
Also, there was a decrease this year in first-time test takers from ABA-accredited schools. There were 5,740 of those individuals sitting for the July 2017 exam, which is 488 less than who took the test last year. A list of candidates who passed the exam can be found here.
