Legal sector loses 1,500 jobs in March
Jobs in the legal sector have declined three months in a row, according to seasonally adjusted figures released on Friday by the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.
According to the preliminary data, the legal sector lost 1,500 jobs in in March, the Am Law Daily (sub. req.) and Law360 (sub. req.) report. Since January, the legal sector has lost 4,000 jobs.
According to the Am Law Daily, the number of legal sector jobs “has generally hovered between roughly 1.12 million jobs and 1.13 million jobs since June 2013—more than 50,000 jobs fewer than the sector’s pre-recession high in 2007.”
