The legal sector added 1,100 jobs in April, according to preliminary, seasonally adjusted figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The gain follows three straight months of legal sector job losses, Law.com (sub. req.) reports.
The total number of legal sector jobs in April was 1,124,100, according to bureau statistics. Before the recession, in May 2007, the sector had 1.18 million jobs.
Revised statistics for March show the number of jobs in the industry that were lost was lower than first thought. The legal services sector lost 700 jobs, not the 1,500 initially reported.
