Legal sector jobs remained flat in January

The number of legal jobs in January neither grew nor diminished from the prior month.
In both December and January, the legal services sector had 1,140,100 jobs, according to seasonally adjusted and revised numbers released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The January job number represents an increase of 1,300 jobs over January 2018.
The National Law Journal has coverage. “With the flat jobs report in January,” the article reports, “the legal industry has continued to trail behind an upward trend in the U.S. economy.”
The National Law Journal notes that the figures are provisional. The December number was revised upwards by 3,400 jobs in the latest jobs report, putting the number of lgal jobs in a tie with January.
