Lawmaker proposes another University of Texas law school
Reviving a proposal that has been made before, a Texas lawmaker has filed a bill to create a University of Texas law school in the Rio Grande Valley.
The proposal by state Rep. Eddie Lucio III (D-San Benito) won’t be considered for some time, because the legislative session hasn’t begun yet. He says the law school would improve legal services for the area, by making it easier for residents to attend law school, according to the Associated Press and KGBT.
A medical school is scheduled to open its doors at the UT-RGV campus in 2016.
