The fallout continues today concerning a Maryland judge who admittedly deflated a court worker’s car tire in response to her alleged inappropriate use of La Plata courthouse parking.

Circuit Judge Robert Nalley will be suspended from sitting on criminal cases until a La Plata police investigation into the situation is resolved, his supervisor, William Missouri, who serves as chief administrative judge of the state’s 7th Circuit, announced today. He says it is standard to remove a judge who may be charged criminally from hearing criminal cases, reports the Washington Post.

Nalley, who earlier characterized the situation as not a “big deal,” according to Missouri, is now “very chagrined,” the 7th Circuit administrator says following a meeting with the 65-year-old Nalley today. “He feels embarrassed because he did it, and how he’s placed the court in a bad light.

Nalley resigned earlier this week from his prior role as chief administrative judge of Charles County Circuit Court, but said he intended to remain active on the bench.
