Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg criticized Donald Trump this summer, but she is nonetheless ready for him to fill the Supreme Court vacancy created by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia.

On Monday, Ginsburg repeated a phrase she used when President Obama had nominated Merrick Garland to fill the vacancy, report the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal Law Blog. “Eight is not a good number,” Ginsburg said.

“There is an existing vacancy, and President Trump will fill it,” she said in an appearance before the Jewish Federations of America. “Then, perhaps, Congress will do some work.”

Ginsburg had criticized Donald Trump this summer as a “faker” and someone who “really has an ego,” remarks for which she later apologized. A day after the election, Ginsburg wore a lace collar to court that she wears when reading a dissenting opinion.

On Monday, the crowd cheered loudest for the opening and closing remarks of the lawyer who interviewed Ginsburg, Kenneth Feinberg, according to the Washington Post. In welcoming her, he said, “May you live a thousand years.” And he closed with, “May she continue in good health.”
