A former deputy city attorney for Los Angeles avoided jail time on Tuesday with a no-contest plea in an alleged coffee kiosk rampage on Christmas Eve.

Angela West, a Harvard law graduate, was accused of smashing merchandise at a Peet’s kiosk at the San Francisco International Airport, according to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Crime Scene blog. When officers responded, West “raged” at them, according to San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

Wagstaffe told the blog that West had wielded a 3-foot-long metal pole in her attack at the kiosk and on officers. He also said she shouted at officers that she was a lesbian and they could not have sex with her.

West pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors, exhibiting a deadly weapon and battery on a peace officer, the blog says. The Chronicle says she received a suspended sentence of two years in prison, while the San Mateo Daily Journal says she received a four-year suspended sentence.
