Forget Matt Damon and Demi Lovato. As far as viewers of The Good Wife are concerned, it wasn’t mainstream celebrities but a former Bill Clinton adviser who was expected to spark their attention during the critical May television sweep ratings.

Vernon Jordan made a cameo appearance as himself about 35 minutes into Tuesday’s episode of the law firm drama, reports the TV column of the Washington Post. Seemingly focused on a possible partnership at the fictitious Stern Lockhart & Gardner, he gives the gang a jolt when he reveals he wants to take it over.

The article provides a link to a video of the program, which garnered some 12.9 million viewers.

Meanwhile, megastar Damon and tween idol Lovato will be boosting ratings in upcoming episodes of NBC’s 30 Rock and ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, respectively.
