Attorney Ranked 80th on Best Jobs List
Students considering whether to pursue a law degree should consider the career of Ryan McAllister of Fireman’s Fund Insurance. He works standard hours indoors, doesn’t do any heavy lifting and is in high demand. And his salary is likely between $91,000 and $133,000.
McAllister is an actuary, ranked the top job in a study commissioned by CareerCast.com, the Wall Street Journal (sub. req.) reports. Attorney was 80th on the list, according to Above the Law.
Paralegal assistant is ranked seventh, stenographer/court reporter is ranked 22nd, and judge is ranked 63rd.
The results are based on five factors: environment, income, employment outlook, physical demands and stress. The top five jobs listed are actuary, software engineer, computer systems analyst, biologist and historian. The bottom five are roustabout, lumberjack, ironworker, dairy farmer and welder.
