Atlanta law firm plans to add a virtual branch
Atlanta law firm Taylor English Duma plans to hire partners throughout the country who will become part of a virtual hub for the law firm.
Taylor English says its “hybrid” law firm model will offer more support to its work-at-home partners than other virtual law firms, according to the Daily Report (sub. req.).
The remote lawyers will have the support of Atlanta staffers to help with technology, business development, marketing, accounting and operational support, according to a press release. Taylor English currently has about 150 lawyers.
The virtual partners will work from home and, in a system similar to that of other virtual firms, they will keep 80 percent of the revenue from matters they originate and handle.
Taylor English already has an “eat what you kill” compensation system that pays a percentage for origination. The virtual hub system “syncs in effortlessly with the model we already run,” law firm founder Marc Taylor told the Daily Report.
Virtual lawyers will have the same opportunities to become equity partners as lawyers working in the firm’s brick-and-mortar office.
